About Me

I am an artist, researcher and educator based in Devon, in the South West of England. My practice is an enquiry into drawing. As a subject, medium, sensibility, language and philosophy it takes many forms and expands across film, movement, marking, speech, walking, sound, text and sometimes gardening and hoovering.

I have co created drawing symposiums and festivals, formed many collectives and endless collaborations. For a long while I swam in the world of academia, studying and teaching the idea of drawing. Lately, I am occupying a more soulful realm, one that doesn’t divide body and mind. More recent work reflects a long relationship with the River Dart and an exploration of internal and external landscapes through experimental Field Studies, playing with collected data to research how drawing and writing combine to create a third language.

Now, more than ever, drawing is needed for an imagining of a relationship with the natural world. Speculative, embodied, experimental and sensitive, it mirrors the environment and teaches us to watch and listen more closely.
